Hi and welcome to my 2013 classroom webpage. I am looking forward to teaching a talented class of Year 6 students this year, at Sherwood Primary School. I am excited to share my time between two things I love:
raising my own family.
My youngest daughter, Amy with our family dog Charlie, before his summer haircut. Amy is in Year 11 at Long Bay College.
Jessica and Mr Willemse. This photo was taken on Ball night last year. Jess is in Year 13 at Long Bay College. She is a prefect and the School ARTS LEADER this year.
I am lucky to work with two fantastic and motivated teachers in the Year 6 team who certainly have a passion for learning and ICT. Our greatest satisfaction is seeing students succeed and watching them develop their own love of learning.
Although I have now moved out of a Digital Class and into mainstream, I still plan to incorporate up-to-date technological tools to support my students. I thoroughly enjoy regular personal and professional development in the area of 21st Century Learning.
Beside IT, I also strive to run a student focused Numeracy & Literacy programme and regularly devise & explore Visual Art lessons with my class. I also write up some of my units into teaching resources for other teachers to use.
Prior to Sherwood, I have relieved at Long Bay Primary and Torbay Primary, taught at Pinehill School for several years, and before that, I started my career at Greenhithe Primary. Whilst I was born in Budapest (Hungary), my husband David and two daughters (Jess & Amy) were all born in South Africa. We have lived in Auckland, New Zealand since 1998.
I look forward to getting to know you all better over the year, so be prepared to share how wonderful you are, when we start back in February.
